Pizza. Yum… It just might be the best thing in the world. Baked cheesy goodness, robust sauce and crispy, chewy crust. What more could you really ask for?

Whether you like it thick or thin, cheesy or saucy, plain jane or loaded up, Breckenridge has a pizza you’ll love. We’re here to give you “the inside slice” about the best pizza in Breck. We asked locals about their favorite spot to grab a heavenly slice and this is what they had to say.

Breckenridge Ale House

By the Slice: Yes – all day

Thick or Thin: Breckenridge Ale House offers thin crust, Jersey-style tomato pizza pie along with a gluten-free flatbread option.

The Cheese on Top: This is a great no-nonsense spot with simple, large pizzas to feed the whole family.  Grab a seat at the bar and order one of their 120 oz. beer towers.

The Inside Slice: If you have a big appetite, this is the place for you! They offer a 24” Super Slice, 2-feet in length with a take home pizza cutter.

Tin Plate

By the Slice: No

Thick or Thin: Tin Plate offers up their homemade thin sourdough crust.

The Cheese on Top: Upscale dining and pizza can go hand in hand. At Tin Plate, you’ll dine in a 138-year-old mining cabin while enjoying unique and flavorful pizzas. Made from locally sourced ingredients, try everything from the Pineapple Pancetta to the Fig & Prosciutto pizza.

The Inside Slice: Right next door to Tin Plate you’ll find Dynamite Cookies. Enjoy a freshly made signature cookie and pair it with a beer after your pizza (or before, we aren’t judging).

Piante Pizzeria

By the Slice: No

Thick or Thin: Thin crust, New York City-inspired, Neapolitan pizzas with a gluten free substitute available.

The Cheese on Top: Two words: vegan pizza. Yep, you read that right. All ingredients at Piante are 100% plant based and sustainably sourced. Pizzas with bold flavors like the Buffalo Soldier, made with buffalo cauliflower, will satisfy even the biggest meat lovers’ cravings.

The Inside Slice: For an extra special experience, book one of Piante’s Alpen Globes and enjoy private dining with panoramic views of the mountains.

Piante Pizzeria

Giampietro Pasta & Pizzeria

By the Slice: Yes – all day

Thick or Thin: They offer a thin and crispy New York-style pizza as well as a Sicilian deep dish.

The Cheese on Top: Almost everyone we asked said Giam’s was hands down the best pizza in Breckenridge. They make everything in-house, including their pizza sauce, and the quality of ingredients really shines through. They’ve also expanded the dining room area to include more tables, a bar and a private dining room.

The Inside Slice: Pizza by the slice is perfect for a quick lunch. It’s always delicious, never too greasy and the crust is perfectly crisp!

Fatty’s Pizzeria

By the Slice: Yes – during lunch from 11 am to 4 pm

Thick or Thin: You get the best of both worlds here. Fatty’s offers traditional and thin crust pizza. You can even choose between white or whole wheat dough.

The Cheese on Top: Fatty’s has big slices and a slice of cheese is only $3. When you add toppings, they don’t mess around. They load it up all the way to the crust.

The Inside Slice: There’s a reason it’s been around for so long; they’re fast, friendly, affordable and consistent.

Northside Pizza

By the Slice: Yes – all day

Thick or Thin: Northside offers thin, traditional hand-tossed, deep dish, and “Out of Bounds” crusts

The Cheese on Top: These guys are seriously creative. Even though they still offer all the traditional pizza topping options, you can get a little crazy with their signature pizzas. They are chock full of bold flavors that span green chiles to smoked bacon. If you’re looking for a fresh and delicious twist on pizza, you need to check out Northside.

The Inside Slice: The Out of Bounds crust option is where they load up on the toppings. They don’t hold back, they stack ‘em on all the way to the crust and then cut it up into squares. This option is perfect for families with children or big parties.

Downstair's at Eric's Bar

Downstair’s at Eric’s Bar

Downstairs at Eric’s

By the Slice: Yes – after 9 pm

Thick or Thin: They offer a traditional hand-tossed crust, but you still have a few options. You can choose between white, garlic white, wheat, garlic wheat, or gluten free

The Cheese on Top: Eric’s is the perfect spot to hit with the family after thrashing powder all day long. It’s a restaurant and bar with 29 flat screen HDTVs, 25 arcade games, 30 beers on tap and 50 beers by the bottle. The kids are sure to love all the games and you can kick back, unwind and watch the game with a beer.

The Inside Slice: The Garbage Pizza is definitely a local’s favorite. It’s the traditional “let’s-throw-everything-on-here” pizza and it is delicious. If you want to try something a little different, but equally enticing, check out the Arugula and Prosciutto Pizza.

Bloody Mary’s: the glorious hair-of-the-dog libation that helps get you goin’ in the morning. After a late night out on the town, a Bloody Mary might be exactly what you need to kick-start your day. The Best of Breck Team ventured around the county and did some “research” on where to get the best hangover cure in a glass in Breckenridge. We turned to our own taste buds and reached out to locals so we could give you the inside scoop. Here’s who made the cut (not in any particular order):

GC8 Bloody at Robbie's Tavern

GC8 Bloody at Robbie’s Tavern

Robbie’s Tavern | Base of Peak 8 | Breckenridge Ski Resort

GC8 Bloody – Three Olives Vodka with pickle, pepperoncini, olive and bacon skewer – $12

Robbie’s is a brand new, locally owned slopeside bistro with unparalleled views. Located right at the base of Peak 8 within the Grand Colorado on Peak 8, Robbie’s is the new hot spot to grab a drink après skiing. We checked out their bloody as advised by some locals, and were blown away. It was seriously good; the perfect mix of vodka and tomato juice, perfect spice, and topped with BACON. Yeah, bacon.

The Canteen | 208 N Main St | Breckenridge

Garden Bloody Mary – Three Olives Vodka and a spicy tomato juice with what really seems like the whole garden. – $12.50

The Canteen is a local’s favorite with a HUGE Bloody Mary served in a literal canteen cup. Make sure you carve out some time to drink this whole canteen. Just when you think it can’t get any better, it tastes almost better than it looks. Also, don’t forget to order a mini Coors Sidecar for only $1.75 extra!

Ullr Café | Grand Colorado on Peak 8, 1627 Ski Hill Rd | Breckenridge

Ullr Cafe Bloody Mary

Ullr Bloody Mary at Ullr Café

Ullr Bloody Mary – Elevate Vodka, house-made Bloody Mary mix, pickle, olives, pepperoncini, lime, slice of bacon and a sausage roll.  – $14

This Bloody Mary is no joke. Come hungry and thirsty and leave full with this boozy breakfast in a cup. It doesn’t stop there, though… the views make this journey up to Peak 8 all worth it. Enjoy your Bloody Mary outside on their patio looking at all the skiers coming down Peak 8 and hopping on the Colorado and Rocky Mountain SuperChairs.

The Motherloaded Tavern | 103 S Main St | Breckenridge

The Usual Suspects – Pick your house infused vodka: pickle or jalapeno. Then pick your mix: Zing Zang or Motherlode Provisions. Served with a surprise garnish! -$12

The Ultimate Bloody Mary – 32oz of the Usual Suspect with an extra gluttonous garnish of fun! -$20

MLT is known for their house infused booze, so of course, you get an infused vodka with your bloody. They garnish the Usual Suspect with a strip of bacon, olives, pepperoncini and olives. The Ultimate Bloody gets a little crazy. First of all, 32oz of booze. 32. OUNCES. Sign us up. Second of all, they garnish that baby with peppered bacon, a spam fry, and an entire chicken tender! Really reinforcing the whole ‘meal in a glass’ concept.

The Crown | 215 S Main St | Breckenridge

Bloody Mary – Breckenridge Vodka or Breckenridge Vodka Chili Chile, with pickle, celery, jalapeno, pepperoncini, olive, lemon, and lime. Served in a mason jar. -$9

If you’ve never been to the Crown, definitely check it out. It’s a cute little coffee shop right in the heart of Breck that has delicious breakfast, lunch, coffee and BOOZE! You can get all these delicious boozy breakfast drinks early in the morning because it’s a coffee shop so they’re open earlier than most places. They keep it local and use vodka from Breckenridge Distillery as well as 9600 Bloody Mary Mix. Then they basically top it off with a salad. Sold.

So next time you’re in Breck and stay out a little too late, head to one of these spots in Summit County for a delicious hangover cure. Remember, you can’t drink all day unless you start in the morning!

Cheers!
