Every 50 of area youth will bring the classic Mary Poppins to life as a part of our Student Theater Enrichment Program (STEP). Through STEP, youth receive almost four months of instruction from theater professionals in singing, acting, and dancing as they prepare to mount a full-scale musical for the community.

We are proud to present the 3rd annual Bow Wow Film Festival! Come join us for this fun event to celebrate our beloved canine companions. We are so excited about the movies we have chosen for our 2017-18 tour! A few highlights for this year’s films: we have movies about working dogs, both old school and new school, we have the return of the delightful Ask Frank and his advice column and we go international with movies filmed abroad!

Come laugh and cheer and maybe even tear up a bit as we marvel in all the ways these beloved furry creatures touch our lives!

The Breckenridge event will be held on May 10th at the marvelous and state of the art Colorado Mountain College Eileen and Paul Finkel Auditorium Theatre. Doors open at 6:30 pm and the show starts at 7:00 pm. The event runs about 2 hours. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for children 12 and under. At the door tickets will be $12 for adults and $7 for children. Tickets can also be purchased at the Summit County Animal Shelter at 58 Nancy’s Place in Frisco. Light snacks and soft drinks will be available.

All proceeds benefit Summit County Animal Shelter.

Bow Wow is a traveling film festival that celebrates, educates and inspires all things doggie (with or without their human) through the art of short film. Bow Wow Film Fest features some of the year’s best pooch themed short films all wrapped up in one beautiful, fun-loving package! Bow Wow presents an opportunity for animal welfare groups to host an event that generates awareness as well as offers a unique and delightful way to fundraise.

Join the Breckenridge Heritage Alliance as we honor community members who have died in active military service.  This interdenominational service will include a wreath laying and Taps.

Breckenridge Creative Arts is pleased to announce the return of WAVE: Light + Water + Sound, an exhibition of cutting-edge works of contemporary public art featuring illuminated sculptures, projections and digital art on the riverfront. This free 4-day event offers temporary installations, musical performances, screenings, digital art and eye candy of all sizes for the whole family to experience.

The Gold Prospectors of Colorado are coming back to Breckenridge to take over the Blue River Plaza for three days of historical fun! Come learn how to pan for gold and watch the 2018 Gold Panning Championships unfold on Main Street. Everyone is invited to learn the basics of Gold Panning and all necessary tools will be provided.

This event is FREE and open to the public and will take place from 10:00am – 5:00pm beginning on Friday, June 15th until Sunday, June 17th.

The 7th Annual FIRC Fashion Show is Friday, June 22 at the Riverwalk Center starting at 6 p.m. Over 80 local models adorned in thrift store fashion will recreate your favorite television characters as we present TV Classics on the runway. Tickets are $75 and include a high-energy runway show and buffet dinner by 5-Star Catering. We are offering theater style seating at the Riverwalk with the goal of selling 500 tickets. Cocktail tables and outside seating will be available during the dinner hour. Seating is reserved and can be purchased as individual tickets, sections of 4 or sections of 10. Our goal is to raise $200,000 for FIRC’s parenting, emergency assistance and early childhood programs that serve 3,500 local working families every year. Over 80 local volunteers walk the runway adorned in thrift store outfits to recreate an evening of unforgettable fashion. This high-energy event has become one of the top fundraisers in Summit County and has raised over $575,000 in the last six years to help local families thrive. Spend a few hours learning tips & tricks for emergency survival and survival skills with Naked & Afraid star David Michael Scott. In this two hour workshop, we will discuss the psychology of survival, what to do if you get lost, and how to craft the perfect on-the-go survival kit. Participation includes a basic survival kit, training on how to use the contents, and the opportunity to upgrade components to suit your skills. Feel free to bring your personal survival kit from home to add to or ask questions about. Perfect for the zombie apocalypse!
