Welcome to the 16th annual Breckebeiner 60K Nordic Ski-a-thon at the Breckenridge Nordic Center! Come ski laps with us, snowshoe, or just join us for the party, all for the benefit of the BOEC. . The Nordic course will be on intermediate terrain groomed for both skate and classic styles. An adaptive Nordic course will also be offered for those with special needs. Nordic criterion ski loops of 6 and 3 km will be marked, and a snowshoe loop of 3 km. For families with youngsters there will be a 1 km snowshoe loop including a treasure hunt at 4 pm. Rentals are available at the Nordic Center at a reduced rate for all participants.

Participants in the fundraiser can form a team or ski/snowshoe solo. The Breckebeiner is not a relay, so your team can ski the groomed Nordic course together. We encourage you and the business community to seek additional pledges in support of your participation. Ask friends, family members and business associates to pledge $1 or more per kilometer you ski or snowshoe!  A number of contests and door prizes will be featured. The top fundraisers are eligible for gift certificates donated by Vail Resort’s EpicPromise.  All donations are tax deductible.

The “Opet Spar” option is available again this year (you will need your own ski pass for this option).  You can ski your laps anytime the previous week, from Saturday March 10 through the 17th, the day of the event. The real party though will start at 3 PM.

You are also welcome to come just for dinner and an evening ski!

A minimum donation of $30 adults and $15 children (17 and under) is required to participate and BOEC encourages all participants to collect additional pledges in support of our cause (bring all donations and forms to the event to register, and to be eligible for prizes). Dinner (donated by EpicPromise), beverages and entertainment are included.

For questions, please call 970-453-6855 or email BestNordicSki@gmail.com. Registration forms can be downloaded below or pick one up at any of the Nordic Centers. Participants can also ski/snowshoe starting the week prior to the event to meet their goal of kilometers completed. An early skiing trail pass is required for early skiing.

Breckebeiner is made possible through the generosity of Gene and Therese Dayton and the staff of the Breckenridge Nordic Center. All proceeds raised from the Breckebeiner benefit Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center. For over 42 years, BOEC has been providing life-changing outdoor activities for a diverse population of people with mental and physical disabilities, serious illnesses, injured veterans, youth at risk and other special needs. For more information or to get involved call 970-453-6422.
