Winter weather is still a few months out, but now is the time to plan your vacation and come to Breckenridge for one of these classic winter events. 

Buzz is building for the upcoming ski and snowboard season. Although summers in Breckenridge are truly amazing, Summit County and its four world-class ski areas really come to life in the winter. Here are the top major events to get excited about this season:

Breckenridge Ski Resort Estimated Opening Day

Opening day is always a thrill around here, but even more so this year for those itching to get back out on their skis and snowboards.

The Lighting of Breckenridge and Running of the Santas

12/4/21

Breckenridge transforms into a winter wonderland with a Main Street Santa Race, caroling in Blue River Plaza and visits with Santa himself as he arrives via horse-drawn carriage for the lighting of the town tree.

Ullr Fest

12/8 – 12/17/21

The weeklong celebration of all things winter peaks with the Ullr Parade down Main Street. Join us in giving thanks to Ullr, the Norse god of snow.

International Snow Sculpture Championships

International Snow Sculpture Championships1/24/22 – 1/30/22

Watch as 10-foot-tall 20-ton blocks of snow are transformed into incredible frozen works of art. Using only hand tools, 16 teams from around the globe create detailed sculptures over the course of a week.
